Day 2: El Colmenar to Ronda (56 km)
Starting in El Colmenar, the ride includes a steep ascent to the Puerto del Negro, with impressive views of the Buitreras Gorge. Riders will pass through picturesque countryside and quiet valleys before reaching the Jimera de Líbar railway station.
This section parallels the river and railway, taking you through beautiful natural surroundings and landmarks like the famous Cueva del Gato, a stunning cave system that’s popular with spelunkers and adventurers. The route finishes with a challenging climb into Ronda.
Day 4: El Chorro to Antequera (40 km)
A technical descent from the Sierra de Huma leads to Valle de Abdalajís, a well-known paragliding spot. Along the way, you’ll pass the ruins of Bobastro and enjoy panoramic views.
The route traverses more rugged landscapes, offering expansive views of the Torcal de Antequera, a unique limestone formation. Before entering Antequera, riders can stop by the “Lobo Park,” a conservation area for wolves.
Day 1: Arrival in El Colmenar
Upon arrival to Malaga airport, you will meet a member of our team and transfer to el Colmenar (approx. 2hrs) to decompress after the day's travels at the peaceful natural surroundings of our stunning rural Hotel. There will be time to meet your guides, the bikes and the rest of the team before having a traditional Spanish menu to choose from for dinner. Welcome to Spain!
Day 3: Ronda to El Chorro (63.1 km)
Riders move from the Guadiaro river basin to the Guadalhorce river basin, climbing the Collado de Lifa with views of Sierra de las Nieves. The descent into El Burgo offers a combination of trails and service roads.
This part of the journey avoids main roads, instead tracing paths through olive groves and Mediterranean forests, reaching heights of 800 metres before descending into Ardales.
This scenic ride bypasses asphalt roads and runs through the foothills of the Sierra de Aguas, with spectacular views of the El Chorro Dam and the surrounding mountains.
Day 5 Antequera to Ventas de Zafarraya (65km)
After leaving Antequera, the route leads through farmland and forested areas, passing by traditional cortijos and rustic villages before arriving in Villanueva del Trabuco.
The final stretch of the Málaga route features steep climbs and thrilling descents, with views of the surrounding sierras and valleys. Finishing the day at the Boquete de Zafarraya, we’ll have reached the most easterly point of our trip before heading to Malaga for the final day.
Day 7 Departure Day: After a lovely breakfast in the hotel, we have until 12noon to get checked out, giving you plenty of time to enjoy Malaga's sights such as the old town and the marina. Aiport transfers are only a short 15-minute drive away.
